Tankardstown House Wedding

Wedding at Tankardstown House

As in Ireland Wedding Photographer, I must say that Tankardstown house is one of those most stunning wedding Venues in Ireland. The light is gorgeous and the beautiful garden fits perfectly in every single shot!

If you are planning to get married at Tankardstown house for an indoor or an outdoor ceremony and have no clear idea about where to celebrate your wedding in Meath, take my word that this is a perfect place for it. Even in a rainy days the light filled orangery provides a lot of daylight and is super spacious.

Tankardstown house is one of those super wedding venues that was transformed magnificently into an absolute beauty. For winter weddings - the fireplaces in the rooms at the main house combine like nothing else - a super warm, fantastic and festive atmosphere. Offering a complete blank canvas style space for the couples. Their famous Orangery is an amazing option on a rainy day, or winter.

The wedding started on a beautiful Spring sunny day, where at 9am in the morning it was nice and crisp. Outdoor Weddings are always a joy for any wedding photographer that loves capturing natural frames and this was an outdoor wedding, which I was very much looking forward to.

rather than a traditional cake cutting shot, Khaiyisha and Neill decided to come up with a very interesting and photographically challenging idea of lighting lanterns with their close family and guests. OMG this moment was sooo magical! I still remember the calmed and loving atmosphere ant the deep emotions that they both had while doing this together.

Definitely one of the most memorable weddings I've photographed. And I could not thank both Khaiyisha and Neill enough for trusting me in capturing their memories. Also I want to give a massive "Thank You" to all the wedding suppliers involved, who did a superb job in looking after the newlyweds.

The Venue

18th Century House and Gardens that are magnificently turned into one of Meath’s TOP Wedding Venues. Perhaps also one of the best in Ireland? Tankardstown House capacity is 50 to 250 guests. The venue is exclusive to the couple that hire it for their special day. They are working hard to make your day special and they do a great job on it. I guess there are many things that could be listed when speaking of Tankardstown House as a wedding venue and the reviews are great from past couples. One of the most important values is their attention to detail, food and perfectionism for those that like their day just perfect!

Morning Preparations at the Boyne House Slane

Here the bride and groom planned to get ready in the same place (apart, but close). The Boyne House in Slane, Co Meath offers a cozy ambiance that fits somehow between being timeless and dreamlike at the same time, it is just unique. The natural light coming from the windows is soothing and evenly spread out, making everything look just beautiful. Catching candids of her hair and makeup was superb, and the house offers a lot of creative freedom for moving around and creating lovely compositions that enhance the storytelling vibe of the final batch. And I might have spent too much time shooting the dress, but I simply couldn’t resist that warm and soothing light.

The Outdoor Wedding Ceremony

The magical outdoor ceremony was setup in the garden. Emotional wedding promises from both the bride and groom.

Family Photos

Family photos are very important part of every wedding, although not many people think they are exciting. I can tell – they can be fun and efficient if planned to be so. Here at the Tankardstown wedding grounds we had a planned list of family members to attend to family photo part and we had lots of fun and relaxed picture taking.

Portraits at Tankardstown Gardens

Tankardstown house is endless for doing wedding portraits as the possibilities are truly endless. They have massive tall trees, that look stunning and majestic in any weather conditions. The well maintained gardens create a perfect backdrop for high variety of photographs. The interesting thing is that you actually do not need to spend much time with your wedding photographer doing portraits as it is all there within 2 minutes of a walk, out of sight of guests. This gives the couple to have their own little break, while having a walk around the gardens and capturing stunning portraits.

Wedding Reception

The space at the house provide a very warm welcoming atmosphere. Open plan terrace for those days that are warmer and comfortable atmosphere inside the house on a wet days. On a spring day like this, the weather was fabulous and guests could enjoy their drinks outside. Orangery was decorated for the dinner and there was a lot of day light coming from the glass roof, which is providing extra spacious feel.

Speeches

Lanterns in the Evening

Lanterns were the choice for the newlyweds instead of traditional cake cutting. This created such a warm atmosphere with everyone around enjoying this moment.

Lyrath Estate Wedding Portraits at the pier

Lyrath Estate Country House Wedding, Kilkenny

Lyrath Estate Country House Wedding, Kilkenny

or “Christmas Fairyland Wedding”

If there was an award for the most emotion and love seen at a wedding, then Lorraine and Padraig’s winter wedding at Lyrath Estate in Kilkenny would definitely be on the shortlist to win the prize. This was such a beautiful day, so full of love, laughter and happy tears. For a documentary wedding photographer like myself, who lives for capturing genuine heartfelt moments. This wedding was an absolute pleasure to be a part of.

Lorraine and Padraig are such a brilliant couple and couldn’t have made me feel more welcome. Add to that the Lyrath Estate, a really beautiful wedding venue in Kilkenny. Amazing winter crisp weather (it was one of the those crisp winter days with blue skies and the sun shining). This was a wedding that really did have everything – including super cute flower girls!

Thank you so much to you both for asking me to be your wedding photographer. It has been so nice getting to know you both and I wish you both a very long and happy marriage together. Which I know it will be.

Here are just a few of my favourite shots from your amazing winter wedding day.

The Wedding Venue (Old House)

Beautiful Lyrath Estate Country House was the choice for the wedding venue for the bride and groom. Long ago Lorraine was dreaming to have their wedding happen at this Venue as it has it’s magnificence and charm that some venues might be missing. A perfect wedding venue with beautiful grounds and gorgeous sunsets.

The venue capacity is up to 250 guests and the reviews are great from past wedding couples

Lorraine and Padraig’s love story blossomed at the Galway Races in 2016, a chance encounter at the popular summer races in the west of Ireland bringing them together.

They were dating just three years when Padraig popped the question, the romantic backdrop of the Amalfi coast forever more a special place in the story of their lives.

The trip was a surprise present for Lorraine’s 30th birthday and little did she know there was something a little extra – and sparkly! – patiently waiting for her upon landing in Italy.

Morning Preparations

Georgeous Riki Dalal designer wedding dress and wedding details, accessories. LouBoutin wedding shoes and amazing accessories.

The Ceremony

The wedding ceremony took place in Tullaroan Town, hometown of the bride.

Bride and Groom Portraits

The grounds of the venue are perfect for portraits and there are so many photos we could take here. The possibilities were endless but we picked this location for portraits and at the Old house, by the river. Tip for Winter Weddings – at winter weddings the sun sets quite early, so we had to be quick before it got too dark.

Family Photos and Bridal Party

Family photos during a wedding are one of the most important photos to take and it can be fun too! The key to fun wedding family photos is having them planned and efficient!

Wedding Reception

What can I say – beautiful decorations, flowers, atmosphere and space.

Wedding Sparklers

The couple decided to do a Sparkle Entry and it was also magical. Tip: if you are planning sparklers on your wedding – make sure you get the extra long ones.

First Dance

Beautiful music. Loving atmosphere and emotion filled wedding moment. Bride and her mum after the first dance.

The Dunloe Wedding, Gougane Barra Ceremony

Morning at The Gougane Barra

All in all an absolutely incredible day. Here are just a few of my favourite photographs from the wedding at The Dunloe Hotel and Beautiful Gougane Barra.

Also – I am very thankful to the bride and groom for letting me be part of their special day.

Intimate Wedding Ceremony

Wedding ceremonies are always special in Gougane Barra, which is why so many people love it. I fell in love with this magical place too. It has a true Irish character and calming atmosphere is made for a beautiful intimate wedding ceremony.

Family Photos and Portraits

Reception at The Dunloe Hotel

The reception at Dunloe Hotel Weddings in Kerry, indeed one of the best 5-star luxury wedding venues in Ireland. It was nothing else but perfect – couldn’t describe it otherwise. It was an honour to be doing wedding photography part of such a beautiful day.

The Dunloe Hotel and Gardens is a luxury 5-Star event and wedding venue in Killarney, Co Kerry. It is a relatively new venue, having only re-opened their doors in July 2018 after renovation. It is located in acres of beautiful countryside, just by the side of the most beautiful places in Ireland. Very close to the Ring of Kerry.

The grounds at Dunloe Hotel is great for photos. I especially loved the trees and fields with horses, it is extremely photogenic and great opportunities for fabulous portraits.

Rustic Destination Wedding | K+R

Rustic Wedding

Beautiful Wedding Dress, VW Camper-van on your wedding day. Perfect photography locations and various ideas. Amazing memories to create a wedding album. This Rustic Destination Wedding was such a warm wedding, full of love!

It’s hard to know where to start with Kristine’s and Ronan rustic wedding. For a photographer like me who is obsessed with capturing real moment and genuine emotion, this was the absolutely perfect day. Emotion, smiles, tears, laughter, hugs and genuine love was absolutely everywhere. This was a celebration in every sense of the word and it was an absolute privilege to witness and photograph it all.

After discussing the plans for the day and the events involved- I knew that this was going to be brilliant – and that is exactly what it was.

The day couldn’t have started any better. Kristine and Ronan drove with a VW Camper to where their ceremony would take place. This was one of the best “aisles” ever, as all their guests could see them walking towards them and the sense of happiness and emotion in the air was just incredible. The ceremony couldn’t have been any nicer – so full of joy. And then the party really started and it was also very good, well, perfect.

After that it was all about celebrating, laughing and partying with their guests. And what a party it was! There was hardly a dry eye in the house during the speeches and the dancing later on was simply epic! Oh, and in the middle of all that we had beautiful sunshine and a stunning sunset. This really was the perfect day and was nothing less than Kristine and Ronan deserved.

I really can’t thank Krisitne and Ronan enough letting me to be a part of their beautiful day. I absolutely loved it.

Here are just a few of my favourite photographs from what was a very special day.

A small tip: Ireland has some really nice farm wedding venues to consider, such as the Ballyvolane HouseHotel DoolinBallilogue Estate which has a barn and ranch style area. Read more in an article about Rustic Barn Wedding Venues in Ireland.

Morning Preparations

Morning Preparations took place in a hotel surrounded with the loved ones. The Bride and Groom were patiently waiting for the day and I could see a spark in their eyes.

Ceremony

Ceremony was emotional and many guests felt that. Love was definitely in the air.

Portraits

We did a lot. I mean, really much. We went to a forest, went to a long bridge, drove the WV Campervan. Cool car for your wedding day.

Alternative Wedding Photography [Destination]

The Wedding

An alternative wedding of beautiful princess and prince story. The couple were waiting long for this day and it has finally arrived. The sunny day was filled with so many beautiful moments. We did everything - we went to park, to abandoned building (used it as a background) family photos and friends, smoke bombs, castle photos, forest etc . . . The bride and groom were writing their own speeches and promises to each other that they have then read at the midnight.

The Details

The wedding shoes are fab!! The gorgeous dress and the happy, full of love couple. They have certainly found each other and truly love each other as they are. This wedding took place in a small country Latvia. Groom is originally from Finland and the Bride is from Latvia. The alternative wedding took place in Latvia - hometown of Christina. The couple permanently live in Finland and enjoy each other every day. I could go on about how special this wedding was but really picture paints a thousand words :)

The Ceremony

Brides brother was walking her to the altar, where the groom was patiently waiting and trying not to get emotional.
